WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon dropped potentially major hints of possibly scaling back on his WWE television role during a major feature in today's edition of  the Connecticut Post, while also mentioning that he wants to start developing younger talents into new characters.

“As time goes on obviously I’m going to be in retreat mode. We need to move on, you know? It’s important that we develop new characters and my character seems to eat up a lot of time on the show,” he said. “We need to have these fresh young faces.”

Robert Zimmerman, a spokesman for the company, added his own comments to what McMahon said regarding his character moving on and staying away from television. “It was Vince’s intention to write himself out, and there are no plans for him to return to the ring,” he remarked. “But since it’s WWE, you never know.”

The article also features McMahon responding to wrestler health issues, including the big deal about steroids in the industry, mostly about the Benoit situation. McMahon even admits to using the drug in the past, but declined to answer if he still used them past 1996. He also made an interesting comment saying since it's his company and he is not an active performer, the drug testing policy doesn't apply to him.
