- Big Show vs. CM Punk, Luke Gallows and Joey Mercury in a 3 on 1 Handicap match has been confirmed for the SummerSlam pay-per-view next month. The match was announced during Wednesday's SmackDown taping before a promo featuring the Straight-Edge Society.

-  Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston, with help from Vickie Guerrero, to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion at Wednesday's SmackDown tapings. This is Dolph's first major singles championship in WWE, though it's not his first taste at gold, as he won the World Tag Team Titles as Nicky from The Spirit Squad.

- It was revealed during the closing segment of Wednesday's SmackDown taping that Kane was the real person behind The Undertaker's attack, and not Rey Mysterio who he had blamed the week before. The segment of Kane blaming Mysterio will air tonight on SmackDown, while Kane being revealed as the true culprit next Friday. Many people expect Taker to show up following the World Title match at SummerSlam to set up a feud between himself and Kane for Night of Champions.

- Christian was noticeably missing from being involved in Wednesday's WWE tapings, though he was backstage. He was kept off of the TV's for next week to sell injuries of an attack by Drew McIntyre following their match at Tuesday's tapings, set to air tonight on SmackDown. He is expected to return to television at the next set of tapings to begin his program with McIntyre.

- WWE is wanting to continue on with their NXT show following the end of the second season, which is tentative to end in  late September  or early October. There is no word if WWE is still in negotiations to reach a TV deal for the show, or if they will simply air it via  WWE.com . The company is also under a lot of pressure to keep signing new developmental talents because of this, as they want more and more talents to eventually be called up to the main roster.
