- Tonight’s WWE tapings in Atlanta, Georgia at the Philips Arena will be a Supershow. No matches have been announced for tonight’s NXT yet or this week’s SmackDown. Matches being advertised locally include Kane vs. Jack Swagger vs. Big Show vs. Rey Mysterio and a 7 on 7 match with Nexus vs. John Cena, Edge, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, R-Truth, Sheamus and John Morrison. Other RAW stars being advertised include The Miz and Evan Bourne. It’s expected that Drew McIntyre will return to SmackDown at the tapings and that WWE will announce the final 2 participants for Smackdown’s Money in the Bank match.
- The pre-sale code for WWE’s SummerSlam AXXESS events in Los Angeles is SSAXXESS. The pre-sale is currently on Ticketmaster.com.
- It’s being speculated that the reason WWE did the injury storyline on R-Truth last night is because of his legit groin injury he suffered a few weeks back. It’s possible Truth wasn’t going to be ready for Money in the Bank so they pulled him from the match. No word yet on who Truth’s replacement will be.
- Chris Jericho posted the following on his Twitter account on Sunday night. “Just burned the shit out of my thumb lighting off fireworks. The grand finale firework was called Guns N Roses. It blew like a rocket queen.”
- Michael Cole said on RAW last night that the anonymous General Manager has ruled that none of the Nexus members may compete for any WWE title until further notice. Cole later said on the show that they couldn’t get a title shot for three months. It sounds like a case of mis-communication on someone’s part last night with the storyline. For what it’s worth, WWE’s website says that the Nexus members won’t be able to compete for a title until further notice from the General Manager.
- WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin is being teased as the anonymous RAW General Manager, which is described as a red harring to throw people off. Austin sometimes participates in live updates during RAW, but didn’t last night. However, he wrote the following after the show: “busy all day folks…working on a project to be shot in Vancouver in a few weeks….more details later…gonna hit the hay..good night.” Fans bombarded Austin’s account with comments and about him being the General Manager and the teasers on RAW. Austin replied: “I missed it but it sounds like It was an interesting RAW.”
