FCW Live Event – 7-8-10

The show opened with ring announcer Ashley Valence announcing that tonight someone will be getting a tryout as GM. She announced the GM for the evening is FCW’s own Rudy Parker. Parker comes to the ring with his usual enthusiasm, as the sold out FCW Arena crowd chants “RUDY RUDY RUDY”… He first announces the main event for the evening will be a Handicap Match… Johnny Curts & Kaval vs Michael McGillicutty, Eli Cottonwood, & a mystery partner. He also announced there will be a Diva’s Bikini Contest… Which met with a huge response from the crowd who resumed the “Rudy” chants.
Match 1: Six Man Tag Match – Lucky Cannon, Titus O’Neill, & Wes Brisco defeated Brodus Clay, Husky Harris, & Big E Langston when Brisco pinned Clay
Conrad Tanner entered the ring and cut a solid promo about how, through hard work, he’s excelled at everything he’s done and now he’s putting that focus into becoming the next FCW champion.
Match 2: Conrad Tanner pinned Derrick Bateman
Match 3: Shad Gaspard pinned Cable Jones
Match 4: Richie Steamboat won by DQ over Caylen Croft due to interference by Trent Baretta
Match 5: FCW Tag Team Championship Match – “Los Aviadores” Hunico & Epico defeated Tyler Reks & Leo Kruger when Hunico pinned Reks
Time for the Divas Bikini contest. Participants are Naomi Night, AJ Lee, Aksana, Christina, WWE Divas champion Alicia Fox… and your host, Rudy Parker. Parker lets the participants know that there will be a “special” grand prize for the winner… By audience vote, Aksana wins and Parker lets her know that the grand prize is a kiss from him. He leans in to kiss her and shee slaps his face. Then, all the participants throw Parker out of the ring. He staggers back to the locker room holding his face, smiling, and saying “I think she likes me!”.
Match 6: Percy Watson won by DQ over Jimmy Uso (with Tamina) when Jey Uso interferes.
After the DQ, The Usos and Tamina engage in a beatdown of Watson until Bo Rotundo, brandishing a chair, makes the save… Then, tonight’s GM, Rudy Parker, comes to ringside and announces that he is going to give the fans what they want… A tag-team match!
Match 7: Bo Rotundo & Percy Watson defeat Jimmy & Jey Uso (with Tamina) when Percy pins Jimmy following a tornado DDT.
Ashley Valence introduces the first two participants of the main event, Johnny Curtis & Kaval. Alex Riley then comes to the ring and states that he won’t be able to participate following his “mishap” last week, but he is part of the main event as a guest ring announcer. He then introduces Michael McGillicutty & Eli Cottonwood as two of the people that will fall behind him in the NXT voting… Then he introduces their mystery partner as tonight’s GM, Rudy Parker.
Match 8: 2 On 3 Handicap Tag Team Match – Kaval & Johnny Curtis defeated Michael McGillicutty, Eli Cottonwood, & Rudy Parker when McGillicutty & Cottonwood abandon Parker leaving Curtis & Kaval to briefly brutalize him. Curtis does his leg drop finish from the bottom rope instead of the top, telling the audience “C’mon! It’s Rudy!”.
Following the match, Kaval & Curtis shake Rudy’s while he’s still laid out on the mat, Rudy then signals for the microphone and tells the audience, while still laid out, that he hopes they had a great time, and to let Mr. Keirn know that they thought he did a great job as GM.

The TV announcers were Byron Saxton & Matt Martlaro.
The audience was hot all night. This was the 5 th consecutive sellout of the FCW Arena.
Richie Steamboat’s looked sharp in his return following his Dad’s medical crisis. My best to the entire family as Ricky’s health continues to improve.
New WWE Diva “Christina” made her FCW Arena debut in the Bikini Contest. She is Christina Crawford, the younger sister WWE Divas champion, Alicia Fox (Victoria Crawford), who also participated in the contest.
Another note about the bikini contest… AJ Lee continued to act as a heel by first refusing to reveal herself in a bikini, then by taunting FCW Divas champ Naomi Night. It appears she is being groomed to join the Smackdown roster as a heel.
A source within FCW confirmed that Alex Riley did suffer a concussion last week during his match with Kaval last week. The match was stopped because of his excessive bleeding from the back of his head after a backwards fall into the guard rail. The source also said that Riley is expected to be out of action up to a month. Riley had visible stitches and swelling on the back of his head as worked the mic prior to the main event. The NXT cameras managed to avoid both the stitches and swelling during his mic work Tuesday night.
Roster talent noticeably absent from the show included Abraham Washington, Brett DiBiase (injured), Curt Hawkins, Darren Young, David Otunga, Devin Allen, Donny Marlow, Drake Brewer (injured), Heath Slater, Jackson Andrews, Jacob Novak, Jamie Keyes, Jinder Mahal, Justin Gabriel, Liviana, Mason Ryan, Michael Tarver, Rhys Ali, Serena, Skip Sheffield, Vance Archer, & Wade Barrett.
